This week brought to a close the life of Charles Mansion. Thanks in part to the man who personified evil the aftermath from the summer of love would be bloody and violent. Kathleen Wynne has opted to introduce back to work legislation in the five week old strike that has more than 500,000 Ontario college students on the verge of losing the semester. November 11th marks Remembrance Day in Canada. Many of us will solemnly pay respect to the men and women who served our country and fought to preserve the values we so deeply believe. 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of The Battle of Passchendaele. Victory on the muddy Belgian battlefield would prove costly. The lives of 4,000 Canadian soldiers would be lost, 12,000 would bare the physical scars from their wounds forever and countless others would suffer from the mental scars left behind from the gruesome realities of war. This week social media blew up over Prince William suggesting the world do something to mitigate the effects of over-population while Kate is expecting Royal baby number three. He was branded a hypocrite for suggesting over-population is a global concern particularly in Africa where the human population is growing at a rate of three and a half million people per month. Happy Thanksgiving 2014
I did say regularly it’s just that my definition of regular and yours are different. Guess the RIM Rant is irrelevant now hell they don’t even call themselves that anymore. Still love my Blackberry and I hope a once-great Canadian company makes a comeback and lays a beating on rival Apple!
So as everyone gears up for turkey dinner, or recovers if they celebrated last night, I wanted to take a moment to be thankful for everything I have. Life has fired some curveballs over the years but I have two wonderful children who are growing up smart and fast. A wonderful girlfriend who keeps me sharp, honest, and very, very happy along with her son.
I am lucky and thankful.
