WTF
Eighteen deadly days. Buffalo (10), Uvalde (21), Tulsa (4). What the f*ck is going on in America?
Today’s mass shooting in Tulsa marks the 233rd mass shooting in the United States this year. A mass shooting is defined as four or more shot or killed not including the shooter. That currently projects out to 560 mass shootings or 1.53 per day for 2022. That is a ridiculously insane number that needs to change.
So again I ask…
What the f*ck is going on in America? I’d love to hear your thoughts, feelings, frustrations and solutions to the United States’ gun violence problem.

It will continue as long as we have politicians beholden to the NRA 😞

I have expressed my thoughts, feelings, and frustrations about the gun violence problem in the United States on my blog multiple times. As to solutions, I would say vote out of office those politicians who choose to put their heads in the sand, deny that there is a gun violence problem in the United States, refuse to take any definitive action to address it, and instead send out their thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families. However, due to partisan gerrymandering and to voter suppression attempts, I’ve even lost faith that voting matters anymore.

I know you have Fandango, and our thoughts, feelings, and frustrations are pretty much aligned on this issue. I don’t have a vote south of the border but if I did I know my vote would be going to candidates who are willing to take definitive action. As an outsider, I see an issue that is more bi-partisan than I think Americans want to admit. There are a large number of Red Democrats throughout the south and parts of the mid-west who I suspect do not believe in Democrat gun control policies almost as vehemently as their Republican counterparts. Even if they are strong gun control advocates their voter base doesn’t necessarily align with the party they voted for when it come to gun control legislation. I suspect any gun legislation that they can cobble together will be watered down and mostly ineffective but at this point, anything no matter how small or feeble is a start and better than nothing. The sheer numbers of mass shooting is staggering and how they can turn a blind eye to it time and again is mind-boggling. The number of “mass shootings” in the US is almost three times the total number of “all” gun murders in Canada.

There are a few “Red Democrats” in the Senate, and maybe a few in the House, but I do think most Democratic politicians do support common sense gun laws. But you’re right. The number of mass shootings in the U.S. is mind boggling. And it’s a daily occurrence these days.

It’s all about the money and influence of NRA!

Yes it really is about money, thinly veiled as freedom and a constitution that is out of date for modern times.
