Mass Extinction
My trunk stretches into the salty water,
but this will not quench my thirst.
These stone monuments
carved by the mother of everything
will be all that remains of the
great herds that once roamed here.
As we go extinct, so does your kind, waiting for
our fossils to be discovered in the next great epoch.
Author’s Note: Somehow I go turned around and ended up at an old What Do You See by Sadje when I was looking for this week’s post and instantly saw an elephant with its trunk outstretched in the rock formation and had to write about it.

Good take Greg. What we are doing to the planet better stop or there will be no one left to make any discoveries. Thanks for using WDYS image as inspiration
