
Paradise Lost
Andi survived alone, hidden from the Chinese military patrols. America’s interest in democracy had waned three generations earlier, inevitably falling to the Communist regime in the anarchy that ensued. Her only escape was imagining the picturesque herds of wild buffalo, tall grasses and the endless blue mid-west sky she’d read about in forbidden books.

Yes, what I fear most is that we are becoming disinterested and disengaged in our own democracies and as the Chinese propaganda machine masterfully controls the message the rest of the world hears, a growing number of people around the world including people in many western democracies begin to believe such autocratic regimes are the future. It is already happening and it is a slippery slope.

I get what you’re saying. In my country a democrat elected government was removed because the army chief wanted that. Now a bunch of thieves are heading the government who are wanted in corruption cases.
