Threads
Inside my mind,
Broken threads,
Extinguished light,
Darkness spreads.
Cold outside,
I’m safe in here,
In my cocoon,
Hidden from fear.
A single window,
Shining bright,
Caught in frame,
A world in flight.
Trapped within,
A grip that holds,
Watching helpless,
As time unfolds.
If I could only,
Take a leap,
Into the fray, and
Leave my keep.
At the threshold,
The unknown calls,
On my island,
Darkness falls.
Just one brave step,
I’ll take my leave,
But from this fear,
I’ve no reprieve.
