Deep Below

Following the loyalist insurrection, many Minos separatists were forced to toil long unforgiving hours serving Earth’s greed-driven interests.

My clan survived the initial onslaught, fleeing to the shelter of the catacombs deep below the settlement. I miss the warmth of the Minoan suns but the long-forgotten passages have proved the perfect refuge for ostracized colonists.

The therapeutic properties of the moon’s super-heated core providing us with everything we need while planning our triumphant return to the surface.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed. As for the 3-1, I still have a long way to go match some of the others who manage to put all of the dailies into one. Fandango comes to mind!

Here’s eight in one of Fandango’s post:

If you look at some of his other posts you’ll find more. He also runs his own word of the day challenge as well as several other great challenges at his blog. There are several others I’m aware of that that are weekly like The Sunday Whirl’s Wordle which contains 12 words on its own, Weekend Writing Prompt by Sammi Cox and girlieonthedge’s Six Sentence Stories. I’m sure there are more that I’m forgetting. I do not participate in all of them but if the word fits I may just add it to whatever I’m writing.
