Just over a year ago, I had an idea for a writing challenge and Five Words Weekly was born. The inaugural edition dropped on October 17th, 2022. Hard to believe that it has been a year since that first post. Occasionally the five words will have a theme. This week’s theme uses words often connected to Canada’s aboriginal communities. September 30th marks Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. A national holiday meant to bring awareness to our country’s terrible history with the indigenous communities that settled this continent long before Europeans arrived on its shores. The goal is to build bridges between our communities, begin the long healing process, and unite all Canadians.
