The Death of Evil


This week brought to a close the life of Charles Mansion. Thanks in part to the man who personified evil the aftermath from the summer of love would be bloody and violent. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert Kennedy would both be gunned down in 1968 but it is Charles Mansion who has remained in the American psyche and has garnered a morbid fascination more than any other figure of the late 1960s. Too Little, Too Late, Kathleen…


The pro-labour Ontario Liberals are about to make enemies of their bedfellows. Kathleen Wynne has opted to introduce back to work legislation in the five week old strike that has more than 500,000 Ontario college students on the verge of losing the semester. Ironic considering the deadline for students to ante up for next semester is this week.    Continue reading

Does Canada Remember?


November 11th marks Remembrance Day in Canada. Many of us will solemnly pay respect to the men and women who served our country and fought to preserve the values we so deeply believe. 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of The Battle of Passchendaele. Victory on the muddy Belgian battlefield would prove costly. The lives of 4,000 Canadian soldiers would be lost, 12,000 would bare the physical scars from their wounds forever and countless others would suffer from the mental scars left behind from the gruesome realities of war.    Continue reading

The Real Hypocrisy


This week social media blew up over Prince William suggesting the world do something to mitigate the effects of over-population while Kate is expecting Royal baby number three. He was branded a hypocrite for suggesting over-population is a global concern particularly in Africa where the human population is growing at a rate of three and a half million people per month.    Continue reading

On Aging…


Science tells us that time is not constant, the mathematics shows it can move in all directions and at different rates. There is nothing in physics that shows any reason why events can’t happen in reverse. Although this is theoretically true our reality says otherwise. Past, Present, Future… for us time is linear, unwavering in its advance and never straying from its seemingly pre-determined path.    Continue reading
